Simulation Requirements Engineer (Experienced / Senior)

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Simulation Requirements Engineer (Experienced / Senior) to support our Software Engineering BESTAF SIM organization located in Seattle, WA. This position will focus on providing software support to BCA, BDS, BT&E, and BGS business organizations.
In this role, the individual will be working with engineering management to coordinate and lead software modeling and simulation activity for BCA, BDS, and BGS programs with primary emphasis on developing software simulation requirements from airplane system and design requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to directly impact the engineering, design, and development of the IAC software airplane simulation that is used through all phases of airplane design and test. In this role you will govern the design, implementation, integration, and testing for real-time models of aircraft systems and displays, and related tools and utilities. You will have the opportunity to generate software requirements for simulations that support system design solutions and develop further technical expertise in complex aircraft systems.
The BESTAF SIM team has a backlog that includes everything from new feature development to maintenance of legacy software simulation baselines. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in an often fast-paced environment, have adaptability and the ability to work closely with others. Experience in software development is required, and specific background in BCA airplanes, simulation, training systems, and engineering cabs being highly desired.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate IAC simulation development and integration to support BCA, BDS, BT&E and BGS development and test programs.
Use strong project management skills to collaborate and interface with all levels of management and engineering including providing status and managing forecasting and engineering accounting.
Develop software simulation requirements from systems/design engineering and test requirements including conceptualization and inclusion of validation and verification elements
Serve as primary engineering contact for external organizations
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
3+ years of experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and VersionOne
3+ years of experience with C/C++ coding or java/python script development
3+ years of experience with MATLAB and/or Simulink
Experience with Visual Studio
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience with both Windows and Linux platforms
The candidate must possess the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex functionalities of airplane systems and their interdependencies.
A solid understanding of the IAC simulation, including its operating system and environment, is essential. The candidate should also be capable of conceptualizing verification and validation elements applicable to each requirement.
Experience in interfacing IAC simulation with cabs and benches, along with familiarity with detailed test procedures and their contents.
Strong project management skills are necessary, including the ability to lead and coordinate meetings, collaborate effectively, interface with management, provide status updates, and manage forecasting and engineering accounting.
Experience program engineering and finance interface
