RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Oakland, CA that is seeking a Traffic Controls Design Engineer.

Summary:
Enterprise Public Works (EPW) is part of the LEAPS organization (Land, Environmental, and Permitting Services) and serves as the "P"-Permitting-group within the organization. EPW manages a wide range of permit types supporting construction activities, including traffic control, noise, ADA compliance, and general construction permits. We are actively recruiting a Traffic Control Engineer to support the growth of our client's internal Traffic Control Plan (TCP) team. With increasing project volume and a lean engineering staff, this role will be critical in enabling the addition of more drafters and streamlining plan reviews.

Responsibilities:
* Design and review traffic control plans (TCPs) in alignment with local jurisdiction and California requirements
* Collaborate with drafters and internal engineers to maintain accuracy and compliance in project deliverables
* Use AutoCAD and Google Earth to develop and refine design documents
* Support planning and development for utility and municipal-related projects
* Research jurisdictional guidelines and ensure all plans are properly permitted and compliant

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of traffic control design experience in a vendor or municipal environment
* California PE License in Civil or Traffic Engineering (preferred); Candidates with 3+ years relevant experience and a related degree will also be considered
* Strong working knowledge of California and/or local jurisdiction traffic requirements
* Proficient with AutoCAD; Experience with RapidPlan is a plus
* Prior experience with design and review of traffic control plans is essential
* Comfortable working in a collaborative hybrid environment with occasional office visits (1-2 times per quarter)

Nice to haves:
* Experience transitioning from drafting to engineering with a related engineering degree
* Knowledge of large-scale vs. small-scale TCP project nuances (note in candidate summaries if applicable)
