Job Title: CODIS Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Hybrid Quantico Virginia

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled CODIS Subject Matter Expert (SME) with an Active Secret Clearance and deep expertise in CODIS operations and DNA database management. The SME will provide technical and operational guidance on CODIS searches, user workflows, documentation, and program support to strengthen system operations and ensure compliance with evolving requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute CODIS searches including AutoSearcher, Searcher, Batch Searcher, Rapid Search Requests, and Interoperability Services Specimen Search.
  • Provide expertise on CODIS user workflows to support data management and DNA match analysis.
  • Maintain and update the Popstats Functional Specification document and CODIS ConOps, ensuring clarity on calculations and operational impacts of new capabilities.
  • Contribute to business user story acceptance test criteria, screen mockups, and usability review sessions.
  • Support the Government in addressing emergent CODIS issues by preparing whitepapers, recommendations, and resolution strategies.
  • Advise on emerging technologies and genetic analysis advancements that could benefit the CODIS program.
  • Represent the CODIS program at events such as the CODIS Conference, CODIS State Administrator Meeting, and SWGDAM.

Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance is required.
  • Strong knowledge of CODIS operations, searches, and interoperability services.
  • Hands-on experience with CODIS user interaction, workflows, and match management.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain technical specifications, documentation, and acceptance criteria.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging government stakeholders.
  • Ability to support cross-functional teams and represent CODIS at national-level conferences.
