Sr. Linux Administrator
Summary
The Sr. Linux Administrator (Specialist, IS Infra Platforms Linux) will be responsible for Linux operational support, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and expansion, as well as on-call rotation. In addition, they will provide support to provisioning/operational staff, as well as work closely with the Architecture Group in design support and validation of new designs and installations.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction and advice pertaining to capacity planning.
- Provide directions and advice pertaining to future installations and design.
- Provide direction to automate and orchestrate future use of Linux environments (Tanium, Orchestrator, automation suites).
- Manage configurations utilizing Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, Desired State Configuration (DSC), scripting languages (PowerShell, BASH, Python).
Requirements
- Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience.
- 10 to 15 years of infrastructure experience.
- 1 to 3 years virtual infrastructure experience.
Preferred
- Experienced with the following technologies:
- Virtualization technologies using VMware/Nutanix/Hyper-V (MS suite);
- Cluster (SLES, RH);
- VCenter or Nutanix tools;
- Storage technologies using Dell/EMC and NetApp;
- Dell/EMC and NetApp replication technologies;
- Protocols including CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, FC;
- Cisco Networking products;
- Networking technologies including, but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, routing protocols, switching;
- Cisco UCS servers;
- VMware Hypervisor, as well as some UCS bare-metal);
- Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and automation technologies;
- Infrastructure as Code platforms (Terraform, Packer, Azure Resource Manager/CloudFormation templates);
- Enterprise service bus platforms.
