Role: ITSM Product Owner

Location: Grand Rapids, MI Hybrid

Start Date estimate: 6/15/2025

End Date estimate: 1/31/2026 (fiscal)

Position Overview:

  • We are seeking a Product Owner to support our ITSM processes while driving the execution of work tracked in ServiceNow's SAFe module.
  • The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, manage the product backlog, and guide value delivery across our IT organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to define product requirements
  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision
  • Create and maintain a product roadmap aligned with business goals
  • Prioritize and manage product backlog items
  • Oversee design and development throughout the product lifecycle
  • Write detailed Epics, Features, Stories, and Tasks in ServiceNow
  • Lead organizational change management efforts to ensure adoption
  • Participate in Scrum meetings, sprints, and agile ceremonies
  • Provide continuous feedback to enhance product value

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience as a Product Owner
  • Strong understanding of ITSM processes and the ServiceNow SAFe module
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and Scrum
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to drive organizational change management
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Scrum Product Ownership or SAFe Framework
  • Experience working in Enterprise IT environments
  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform & ITIL best practices

The ideal candidate for this role has 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience. As part of their role on a product team, a successful Product Owner should fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
  • Defining the vision for the team's product
  • Creating a product road map based on this vision
  • Managing the product backlog and prioritizing it based on changing requirements
  • Overseeing all stages of product creation, including design and development
  • Developing user stories
  • Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process
  • Liaising with the product team and end-users to deliver updates
  • Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints
