Job Details

Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer (Local to Jackson, MS)

Location: Jackson, MS (Remote with Occasional Onsite Meetings)
Type: Contract

Job Overview:

We are partnering with a Mississippi State agency in search of a local contractor based in or around Jackson, MS with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure. This is a primarily remote opportunity, but candidates must be able to attend occasional onsite meetings as needed by the client.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Microsoft Azure

  • Strong knowledge of Azure services including (but not limited to):

    • Azure Virtual Machines

    • Azure Active Directory

    • Azure DevOps

    • Azure Networking

    • Azure Storage Solutions

  • Experience with Azure security best practices and governance

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Must be local to the Jackson, MS area or within a reasonable commuting distance

Preferred Skills:

  • Azure Certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, etc.)

  • Experience working with state or government agencies

  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud/on-prem environments
