We are seeking an energetic and flexible engineering technician with a focus on testing to join our integration test team at Generac Clean Energy. As an engineering technician, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing and supporting electrical and electronic systems used for research and development of home battery backup systems. Come be part of a multi-faceted team focused on system level testing.

This role is onsite in our N. Billerica MA office.

Responsibilities:
  • Install and troubleshoot battery and inverter systems in a lab environment
  • Execute manual test procedures for system and device level testing in collaboration with engineers
  • Use command line software tools (Linux) to run semi-automated and fully automated testing
  • Collaborate with on-site and remote team members to confirm correct system functionality
  • Collect and review test results for analysis
  • Create and wire custom test fixtures/jigs
  • Populate, repair, modify and test printed circuit boards (SMT and through hole components)
  • Work independently to meet project deadlines
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with sourcing electronic and electro-mechanical components
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to changing laboratory needs, prioritize and adapt quickly to meet project deadlines or support urgent team goals
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience as an Engineering Test Technician or related position
  • Familiarity with Linux systems and basic command-line usage
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar issue tracking systems
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electronic and electrical equipment
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and willingness to comply with safety procedures

Preferred Requirements:
  • Familiarity with power electronics
  • Exposure to scripting languages (Python, BASH, etc)
  • Inherent curiosity for understanding how systems work
