Job Description & Skill Requirement:
- As a System Engineer on the DBW (Drive-by-Wire) project you will be responsible for the design, integration, and validation of advanced electronic control systems. This role involves hands-on machine testing at Proving Grounds and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver next-generation machine control capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and manage system and software requirements for DBW systems.
- Develop and maintain system architecture documentation.
- Conduct on-machine testing, tuning, and validation of control systems at Proving Grounds.
- Use tools like CANape, MATLAB/Simulink, and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) systems for validation.
- Support field testing and troubleshoot system-level issues.
- Develop and optimize control algorithms for hydraulic, powertrain, and steering systems.
- Work with communication protocols such as J1939, CAN, and XCP.
- Interface with system, software, and hardware teams.
- Provide technical updates, documentation, and support for software releases.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or master s degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering.
- 5 8 years of experience in system engineering for off-highway, automotive, or industrial machinery.
- Strong understanding of sensors, solenoids, actuators, and embedded control systems.
- Experience with model-based development (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Familiarity with DBW systems and safety-critical control systems is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with heavy equipment.
- Exposure to machine control systems, including autonomous or semi-autonomous features.
- Hands-on experience with machine testing and validation in proving grounds or field environments.
