Job Details

Background
The Engineering Department's Operations Division Engineering Solutions Unit (ES) supports project delivery and reporting through consultation, development, testing and implementation of system applications and workflows.
The group maintains and supports various Engineering Department (ENG) platforms and acts as the department's liaison with the Technology Department. The Engineering Department is in the process implementing a new project management information system (PMIS), known to ENG as a Project Delivery System (PDS), using the Kahua PMIS platform. The goal is to better connect ENG and streamline work by leveraging technology for project planning, design, construction management services, and asset management.
Description of Services
ES is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to manage and support the design, development, and deployment of the new PDS. The PM will manage PDS from concept to organization-wide release, working closely with internal stakeholders, external developers, and executive leadership. The role requires expert-level knowledge in the delivery of enterprise hardware/IT/software systems, demonstrated experience in the design and deployment of PMIS for transportation agencies, and a proven ability to deliver complex projects on aggressive timelines.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required
  • Minimum 15 years of experience managing the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-level IT, hardware, or software systems preferably for large public transportation systems
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex, multi-stakeholder technology programs on aggressive schedules
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional technical teams, manage vendors, and oversee system integrations
  • Experience in requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and deployment for large-scale enterprise systems or PMIS Engineering Department
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Agile, Scrum, or ITIL certification
  • Prior experience implementing or managing systems built on the Kahua PMIS platform
