Role Overview:
The IoT Edge Store Architect will be responsible for designing and owning the end-to-end architecture for in-store edge devices, gateways, and telemetry integration within a retail environment.
This role ensures high system uptime, operational safety, and compliance with retail IoT security standards, while enabling seamless device orchestration and data flow from store systems to enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
Architecture Ownership: Define and maintain the architecture for in-store edge devices, gateways, and telemetry infrastructure.
Edge Gateway Orchestration: Design and implement orchestration frameworks for managing edge gateways across multiple store locations.
Self-Healing Systems: Develop and integrate self-healing logic to maximize uptime and reduce operational disruptions.
Telemetry Integration: Implement energy usage telemetry and monitoring solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability.
Network Segmentation: Architect secure network segmentation for in-store IoT devices to safeguard customer data and operational systems.
Retail Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to retail security standards and best practices in IoT deployment.
Incident Response & Reliability: Establish operational safety protocols, failover strategies, and incident response workflows.
Collaboration: Work closely with store operations, IT, and security teams to align technology solutions with business needs.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in edge gateway orchestration and distributed device management.
Expertise in device onboarding processes and lifecycle management.
Strong knowledge of self-healing systems and automated fault recovery.
Experience with energy telemetry solutions and data analytics for operational efficiency.
Deep understanding of network segmentation principles in retail or similar environments.
Familiarity with retail IoT security standards and compliance frameworks.
Background in designing resilient architectures for high-availability environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in large-scale retail or multi-location environments.
Knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, etc.) and edge computing frameworks.
Certifications in network security or cloud/edge architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure IoT Specialist).
