Role: Technical Delivery Manager with Java/DevOps

Description:
We are looking for a seasoned Technical Delivery Manager to lead large-scale backend engineering engagements built on Java API microservices and cloud platforms, executed within an Agile/DevOps framework. The ideal candidate will combine strong delivery leadership with deep technical expertise in Java Spring Boot microservices and proven experience in production support management to ensure end-to-end delivery, platform stability, and business value realization. This is a high-visibility role requiring excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional leadership.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Delivery Management: Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade microservices and backend platforms using Java Spring Boot.
- Production Support & Stability Oversight: Manage 24x7 production operations, incident response, root cause analysis, SLA adherence, and implement automation-driven preventive measures.
- Client Engagement & Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders; ensure delivery aligns with business objectives and service expectations.
- Progress & Governance: Partner with customer and UST leads for daily progress reviews, provide status updates (weekly/monthly/quarterly), mitigate risks, and recommend course corrections.
- Metrics & KPIs: Define and monitor health indicators (SLAs, availability, performance, MTTR, defect leakage) to measure delivery and support effectiveness.
- Technical Leadership: Guide architecture, engineering best practices, and DevOps adoption across Java API and microservices teams.
- Cloud Enablement: Oversee deployments on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, leveraging containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), serverless, and cost optimization strategies.
- Agile/DevOps Practices: Drive CI/CD adoption, automated deployments, infrastructure-as-code, and shift-left testing.
- Portfolio & Account Growth: Collaborate with account leadership to identify opportunities, support solutioning, contribute to RFPs, and drive account expansion.
- Team & Vendor Management: Build, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering and support teams; manage vendor contributions effectively.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in software development and delivery; 5+ years in a Technical Delivery or Engineering Management role.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Proven track record in production support management, incident management, and ensuring SLA adherence.
- Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), monitoring/logging (Splunk, Dynatrace, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience managing cloud-native applications (AWS preferred, Azure/Google Cloud Platform considered).
- Strong client-facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills with ability to articulate business value delivered.
- Experience managing distributed teams in an Agile/DevOps delivery model.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in telecom domain is a plus.
- Exposure to observability tools and release management processes.
- Familiarity with hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud).
