Senior Commercial Property Claims Adjuster
Responsibilities:
The Commercial Property Claims Adjuster manages a commercial property claim caseload of low to complexity and exposure, from first assignment to conclusion of the claim process. This includes appropriate investigation, analysis, and explanation of coverage applicable to the claim's elements. The person in this position communicates claims decisions and key developments to policyholders, claimants, attorneys, and vendors.

The Commercial Property Claims Adjuster manages a commercial property claim caseload of low to complexity and exposure, from first assignment to conclusion of the claim process. This includes appropriate investigation, analysis, and explanation of coverage applicable to the claim's elements. The person in this position communicates claims decisions and key developments to policyholders, claimants, attorneys, and vendors.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Bachelor's degree or appropriate combination of insurance industry designations
- 8+ years of commercial property claims adjusting experience
- Strong understanding of commercial construction practices and systems
- Experience with application of ordinance requirements to claimed damages
- Experience with Business Income calculation and application of Extra Expense coverage
- Strong commercial coverage interpretation skills
- Understanding of the Unfair Claims Practices Act, policy contracts, and other insurance principles
- Familiarity with claims management and claims estimating software systems, proficiency in Symbility is preferred
- Sound literacy in the construction and reconstruction of structures, both commercial and residential structures
- Strong communication skills
- Organization, time-management, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and Windows operating system
An exceptional candidate will have the following characteristics:
- Insurance industry certification (e.g. AIC, CPCU, etc.)
- Experience with coverage evaluations for Homeowner and Condominium Association policies and CC&Rs
- Experience with Commercial Condominium losses
- Experience handling Commercial Inland Marine claims (e.g. Contractor's Tools and Equipment)
- Experience handling Lessor's Risk policies
Additional Details:
- Phoenix, AZ or Las Vegas, NV preferred. Possibly Sandy, UT
- Remote with travel (drive to nearby sites for claims). Reimbursement for mileage
