AWS Architect- Infrastructure

Location: Onsite at Albany, NY

Duration: 12+ months contract

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Infrastructure AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and technical expertise in designing and architecting AWS cloud solutions. As an AWS SME, you will play a crucial role in planning, implementing, and coordinating infrastructure projects within a data center environment, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and all pillars of AWS.
Skills required:
Serve as the primary technical authority on AWS infrastructure solutions, providing guidance on design, architecture, and implementation.
An expert in migrating on-prem infra to AWS cloud (lift and shift) migrations. Must have done multiple large lift and shift projects.
In-depth project management skills; task-focused and results-oriented delivery.
In-depth experience with an operating system environment. Working knowledge of enterprise storage environments
In-depth knowledge of authentication and directory services (Active Directory), etc.
In-depth knowledge with Windows system management tools, philosophies, and methods
In-depth understanding of Windows automation (scripting, imaging, installation, management)
In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, RAS, VPN)
Experience designing and building web environments on AWS, which includes working with services like EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3
Experience building and maintaining cloud-native applications
An understanding of writing Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like like CloudFormation or Terraform
Hands-on experience with AWS networking components (VPC, Transit gateway, Load Balancers etc.)
Hands-on experience with AWS security components (Security Groups, firewalls etc.)

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Architect Level Certification(s), or equivalent certification required.
Proven experience in project management, with a focus on technical project delivery in an infrastructure or data center environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in analyzing complex infrastructure challenges.
Familiarity with hybrid cloud architectures and best practices for integrating on-premises and cloud environments.
