Job Title: Information Security Architect

Location: Boston, MA 02108

Duration: 12 Months (Contract)

Position Summary
The Program Solution Compliance Lead will play a key role in ensuring that new business protocols, procedures, and software configurations are aligned with fiscal laws, regulations, and policies. This position will focus on risk identification, compliance, and mitigation across all business functions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices. The Lead will collaborate with program teams to evaluate and support the compliance features of a new enterprise solution, offering strategic guidance on configuration and workflow design to meet regulatory and policy standards.

Additionally, this role includes partnership with internal risk management stakeholders to review and enhance internal control documentation and training materials. The Compliance Lead will meet regularly with leadership to coordinate tasks, review deliverables, and ensure effective alignment with compliance goals.

Key Responsibilities
The role encompasses five major areas of responsibility:

  • Risk & Compliance Design: Collaborate with technical and financial solution leads to develop requirements for compliance protocols, end-user security, audit features, training materials, and internal control documentation updates.
  • Policy & Guidance Development: Support updates to internal control guidance and related materials, in coordination with the internal risk management team.
  • Testing & Validation: Assist in planning and executing testing activities such as User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including developing test cases and reviewing results to recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Change Management Support: Identify business process changes and work with user groups and the Change Management Lead to guide the implementation of new processes and practices.
  • Regulatory Monitoring & Advisory: Stay informed on relevant state and federal legislation affecting audit, compliance, and IT standards, and recommend policy updates as needed.
  • Agency Engagement: Gather compliance-related input from agencies and review specific laws, regulations, and policies to ensure the new system accommodates necessary requirements. Provide audit remediation recommendations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of compliance statutes, regulations, policies, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM, GAO Green Book).
  • Extensive experience in internal audit management, including planning, testing, report writing, and control assessment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead or contribute independently.
  • Experience developing and delivering compliance training.
  • Understanding of financial policy variations across government entities.
  • Proven leadership and team collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with business process analysis and redesign in financial operations.
  • Background in organizational and user change management within large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their application in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of financial and HR systems within a government enterprise setting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in organizational development, compliance, auditing, or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience in managerial roles within government agencies may substitute for direct audit/control experience.
