Objectives of this Role:
- Utilize Safety Engineering expertise to apply to Mechanical Engineering Division specific job functions and processes to develop appropriate and focused training in collaboration with the Environmental & Safety Systems and Human Resources Departments.
- Ensure all staff are knowledgeable about Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and safe practices.
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS training programs.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver EHS-specific training sessions (i.e., Hazard Communication, Emergency Action Plans, Laboratory Safety, etc.).
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and update as necessary.
- Develop training materials, presentations, and manuals. Work with new staff to establish training needs.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct compliance-related training to ensure staff understand and adhere to relevant regulations.
- Partner with department heads to identify training needs and address skill gaps.
- Assist with Emergency Action Plan training and drills.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field with equivalent combination of certifications and related professional level work experience.
- 2-7 years: Experienced in Safety Engineering to design and develop employee training.
- 2-7 years: Familiarity with industry-standard safety protocols and regulations.
- 2-7 years: In-depth knowledge of Safety and Health regulations (e.g., OSHA).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
