Job Title: Senior Integration Engineer
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Quincy, MA (Hybrid Onsite & Remote)
Position Overview
The Senior Integration Engineer will play a key role in designing, architecting, and implementing enterprise-level integration solutions that align with organizational policies and standards. This position will focus on optimizing IT systems and applications across multiple departments, with a strong emphasis on supporting a Local Public Health Data Solution Project.
The selected candidate will be responsible for leading integration initiatives, implementing APIs, and ensuring secure and efficient data flow between systems. This position follows a hybrid work model, combining both onsite presence in Quincy, MA and remote work, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, design, and implement middleware and integration solutions, including installation, configuration, and administration using MuleSoft and related technologies.
Optimize integration architecture and system performance using best practices and industry standards.
Design, implement, and maintain APIs (SOAP & REST) and ensure effective lifecycle management.
Collaborate with application development teams to build API capabilities, including security and policy management.
Develop and maintain a service/API registry and associated documentation.
Conduct code reviews, document unit test results, and prepare deployment documentation for code promotions.
Participate in project planning, design, development, and release management activities across shared service components and applications.
Coordinate with end users, system administrators, and development teams to ensure successful integration of application systems.
Work with third-party vendors and technical partners as needed for integration support.
Research and recommend new integration tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance system performance.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, task lists, and design artifacts for all integration projects.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft and associated connectors (e.g., Salesforce).
Experience with other integration technologies, such as Informatica or similar tools.
10+ years of overall software development experience.
Strong technical expertise in Java/J2EE and Oracle OSB 12c.
Hands-on experience with AWS services (API Gateway, AWS Glue, WAF) and familiarity with Azure OAUTH and JWT.
Strong understanding of XML, JSON schema, TLS/SSL, and digital encryption/signatures.
Working knowledge of development tools such as SVN, Git, SOAPUI, and Postman.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable design.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and design skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to mentor junior technical team members.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 8 years of IT experience in one or more technical roles.
MuleSoft Certification required.
