JOB DESCRIPTION
Apex is seeking a Managing Consultant in our US & Canada practice within the Solutions Delivery organization. The Managing Consultant role requires a very strong, highly experienced executive level consulting professional who has the demonstrated skills and ability to sell and deliver consulting services to enterprise level clients in the Enterprise Analytics domain, with an emphasis on Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologies.
This role will be responsible for selling and subsequently executing executive level, high value consulting services, and will be instrumental in developing future business within one or more accounts. This role will also provide subject matter expertise within the Solutions Delivery organization and will help to enhance the depth and breadth of the knowledge and skills within the Solutions Delivery organization. This role works directly with Account Managers, Engagement Managers, Client Directors, and Solutions and Practice Consultants to develop, propose, sell, and deliver solutions for our government clients.
You will be a part of the proposal and delivery teams for technology services engagements by partnering with clients to define their technical vision and develop the solution, as well as deliver and/or oversee the solution.

- Solutions Delivery Services Sales: Grow and develop Apex Systems' executive-level, high value Solutions Delivery Services sales with Enterprise Level Clients utilizing exceptional skills in consulting, written and verbal communication, relationship-building, presentation, negotiation, interpersonal communication, persuasion, problem solving, analysis, management, leadership, and executive presence.
- Develop strong client relationships as trusted executive advisor. Continually innovate, seek creative solutions, and find new ways of adding value. Listen and seek to understand the client and meet their needs, providing consultative guidance. - This role may be responsible for managing hybrid project teams consisting of Apex Contact Employees, Internal Apex employees, client employees and external vendors.
- Create proof of concepts for common enterprise analytics use cases - segmentation, forecasting, classification, natural language Q&A, customer analytics, product analytics
- Conduct live workshops and demo's with clients spanning the Fortune 1000 and including executives, data and ai technical leaders, business leaders, analysts, and developers
- Represent Apex as part of the Azure and Microsoft data community, specifically making thought leadership contributions to the Microsoft Fabric GitHub and community
- Grow into practice leadership role - either technical or organizational - providing training, coaching, and mentorship to aspiring data consultants around the world by building a community of practice
- Continuously improve your agile delivery, project management, and engagement management capabilities
- Conduct enterprise analytics and data strategy assessments, including data profiling, workshop facilitation, analyzing people/process/technology, preparing quantitative and qualitive insights, and leading the delivery of executive level findings and recommendations
- Lead an analytics and insights or enterprise analytics platform migration client engagement - responsible for executing and clarifying client objectives, requirements, roadmap; deploying resources and providing direction and coaching a team of ML engineers, data engineers, data analysts, and other consultants
- Earn and maintain relevant certifications - DP-600, DP-700, AZ-305
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience in delivering professional services, including 8+ years in enterprise analytics with a focus on Azure and Microsoft solutions and leading technology teams and projects.
- Proven experience owning executive level, high value consulting services sales.
- Exceptional skills in consulting, written and verbal communication, negotiation, interpersonal communication, persuasion, problem solving, analysis, management, leadership, and engagement delivery.
- Curious, continuous learner, exceptional teammate, & problem solver
- Player-coach with the ability to independently solve problems and to create technical and business artifacts
- Proven success in a data analyst, data scientist, or data engineering role (at least 1); bonus for additional experience as a data or solution architect.
- Proven success leading a business facing technical team in a Fortune 500 environment or with a consultancy; note - alternative leadership experience, aptitude, and skills may be acceptable
- Undergraduate degree; Masters degree preferred but work experience is acceptable.
- Proficiency with SQL
- Python or Java preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, PowerQuery, Data Factory
- Proficiency with statistics and quantitative analytical methods.
- Data science experience preferred.
- Strong understanding and application of data management and responsible AI principles; relevant certifications from DAMA or EDM Council or equivalent community preferred.
- GitHub portfolio or equivalent public presence preferred.
- Ability to play multiple roles on a client engagement - project manager, scrum or technical.
- Willingness to learn new languages or frameworks as needed.
- Interest and passion to grow a technical consultancy.
