MetaPhase is seeking a mid-level Software Q uality Assurance (QA) Engineer with at least 4 years of experience to support a high-impact Federal Law Enforcement program . This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that protect national interests. You will collaborate within an Agile delivery team to ensure applications are stable, accessible, and built with quality from the ground up.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders, product owners, and developers during Agile ceremonies to understand requirements and shape testing strategies


  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, scripts, and automation frameworks.


  • Perform functional, regression, smoke, and system integration testing; contribute to usability, 508 compliance, security, and performance testing as needed.


  • Own the defect lifecycle-log, track, and validate resolution of issues; provide detailed documentation and communicate clearly with developers and analysts.


  • Create testing reports to understand code quality, identify defects and issues, then develop strategies for resolution


  • Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives with insights from a QA perspective.


  • Participate in user demos, conduct training, and provide production support for releases.


What We Need From You (Required):

  • Current active Top-Secret clearance, with SCI eligibility. U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • 4+ years of experience in software testing, including creating and executing test cases and managing defects
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Selenium, SonarQube, Wireshark )
  • Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Bonus Points (Desired):
  • Experience supporting Federal clients or within secure environments
  • Familiarity with security and performance testing tools
  • ISTQB or comparable QA certification


Work Setup & Clearance:

  • Hybrid in Washington, DC


  • Position requires a current, active Top-Secret clearance with the capability to obtain an (SCI) as requested by the government. U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS)


Travel:

  • Occasional travel to Winchester, VA


Compensation:

  • Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is 100k-115k
