I'm working closely with my client's CTO following a successful senior hire into their security team, and off the back of that, we've been requested to support this new opportunity. This is a critical hire for a tech start-up on the cusp of going live pending CFTC approval, and they're seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments. The role blends hands-on coding, architecting scalable systems, and ensuring the reliability and performance of core infrastructure as the company scales.
What You ll Be Doing:
- Architect and implement high-performance, scalable systems in a cloud-native environment (Google Cloud Platform).
- Design infrastructure with automation and reliability as a priority.
- Contribute to both greenfield development and the hardening of existing systems.
- Conduct code reviews, support best practices, and mentor junior team members.
- Help lay the technical foundation for a live, regulated exchange.
Must-Have Experience:
- Deep experience building and scaling distributed systems in the cloud (Google Cloud Platform strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in at least one of: Python, Go, or Rust.
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform and GitHub.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, file systems, and databases.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and messaging systems like Kafka.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset.
Bonus Points For:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience working in start-ups or high-growth, fast-moving environments.

If you're passionate about building infrastructure that makes a real-world impact and are excited by the idea of shaping the backbone of my client's platform, I'd love to chat!
