Job Details
Basic Function: Under general guidance, perform duties that involve or relate to SAP Data creation and maintenance. Work with internal customers to provide solutions for complex SAP task. Make recommendations to improve effectiveness of the group and increase customer satisfaction. Manage multiple cross function projects with limited oversight.
Typical duties:
- Create SAP Variant Configurator models for new products and maintain existing products.
- Troubleshoot and solve sales order entry issues.
- Create custom order BoMs for special requested orders in SAP R/3
- Maintain VC objects, BoMs, and routings in SAP R/3 environment.
- Create and maintain SAP material master (MM) data
- Build and modify SAP Variant Configurator models accurately and in a timely manner.
- Create characteristics, classes, configuration profiles, Super BOMs and Super Task lists, object dependencies, Configurable materials, and material variants.
- Create table and constraints for different combinations and restrictions of the product as per customers' requirements.
- Work directly with the plant and coordinate audits of configured BOMs, configured labor routings, and configurable information mapping to shop floor paperwork.
- Participate in all phases of the variant configuration build from designing, building, testing and release
- Execute unit testing and integration testing - leading teams of testers when required.
- Develop functional specifications and configuration documentation.
- Provide ongoing production support.
- Achieve assigned project milestones for assigned projects.
- Deduce and implement rapid solutions and responses to systems issues as they arise.
- Act as SAP LOVC subject matter expert on process improvement projects
- Create and execute engineering change orders
- Create document procedures
- Complete internal audits of data integrity.

- Possess a thorough understanding of BOMs and Routings.
- Experience with Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Proficient in Variant Configuration programming in SAP R/3 environment.
- Strong knowledge of SAP classification, object dependencies, configuration profile, variant tables, BOMs, and Routings.
- Strong knowledge of SAP Document Management and Engineering Change Management
- Knowledge of how SAP Variant Configurator integrates idocs.
- SAP Product Data Replication experience preferred
