Job Details

Job Title: Supplier Quality Electrical Engineer (Electrical, Manufacturing)

Location: Austin, TX | Santa Clara, CA | Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)

Duration: Long Term Contract | Full Time

Qualification: Shall possess a Degree in Mechanical / E&E / E&C / Production with strong semiconductor background

Required Skills:

Degree in Mechanical, E&E, E&C, or Production

Minimum 5 years in manufacturing

Direct involvement in production environments

Preferred Semiconductor with Equipment Manufacturing Experience (preferred)

Ability to read/understand engineering drawings

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

Familiarity with First Article Inspection processes

Proficiency in Statistical Process Control

Understanding of metal/plastic machining, welding

Experience conducting audits and driving corrective actions

Hands-on experience in incoming/outgoing quality inspection

Strong in Excel, PowerPoint, documentation

Familiarity with CAD tools (preferred)

ISO, QMS frameworks, compliance awareness

Root cause analysis and problem-solving

Experience in Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis

Knowledge of lean processes and waste reduction

Logical thinking and structured troubleshooting

Ability to work cross-functionally

Proactivity in driving improvements and solutions

Willing to work in San Jose, CA / Reno, NV / Phoenix, AZ / Santa Clara, CA

Ability to visit supplier sites as needed

Key Responsibilities:

Drive systemic supplier performance improvement plans and projects for reducing quality defects and improve supplier's capability.

Drive SPC compliance and improvement projects to reduce out of control conditions.

Conduct process and part audits at supplier sites part to print verification, quality management system review, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Become substantively involved in New Product reviews to improve producibility and manufacturability in the product development phase.

Participate in and drive technical sourcing decisions based on supplier capability and product attributes.

Train and develop suppliers to comply with Applied's quality methodologies 8D, responding to non-conformances, change management controls, failure analysis.

Proliferate key learnings and BKMs into the supply base.

Prepare and present executive summaries on supplier capabilities, customer and factory escalations.

The preferred candidate will have extensive experience in the following:

Direct manufacturing and industry experience in electrical assemblies, electrical components, cables, harnesses, PCBs and complex test fixtures.

Design for manufacturability knowledge

Finishing processes such as detailing, painting, coating, plating, and cleaning.

Well versed in quality management systems and methodologies.

Value Stream Mapping experience

Creative problem-solving skills

Manufacturing/machining process development and qualification

Program/project management

Sound knowledge of GD&T and Engineering Drawing Interpretation

3D modeling knowledge

PFMEA knowledge and experience

Knowledge of metrology and measuring equipment

Understanding the broad scope of a factory's methods and processes: material control, inspection/QC, cleaning, 5S, tool crib, tool life management, detailing, packaging.

Excellent written and verbal communication

Strong team player
