Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a scalable, secure, and high-performance data architecture for our HRMS modernization initiative. The role involves architecting end-to-end data solutions leveraging AWS native services, defining best practices for data governance and compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver an enterprise-grade data platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architecture and pipelines on AWS using services such as Amazon Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
  • Develop data models and ETL/ELT frameworks to support HR, Finance, and enterprise-wide analytics.
  • Ensure data security, encryption, masking, and access control are aligned with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Establish data governance and privacy compliance aligned with GDPR, CCPA, and internal security policies.
  • Lead architecture reviews, design assessments, and performance tuning sessions across data systems.
  • Build and optimize Python/Spark-based data pipelines for batch and real-time data ingestion.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and HRMS teams to define data integration, lineage, and metadata standards.
  • Provide technical leadership on dbt (Data Build Tool) or similar transformation frameworks for modular, maintainable transformations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production workloads using AWS CloudWatch and implement cost optimization strategies.
  • Define and maintain documentation for data flows, dependencies, and architectural patterns.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or cloud solution design.
  • Proven expertise in Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, S3, Lambda, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Strong background in data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and data warehousing principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Spark, and SQL optimization techniques.
  • In-depth understanding of data security and privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Prior experience in HR, Finance, or Enterprise Data Warehouse environments.
  • Exposure to data lineage, auditing, and metadata management tools.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
