The 1LMX Manufacturing Execution Systems - Center of Excellence (MES COE) is looking for a dynamic candidate, who is interested in working in a fast-paced technical integration role across multiple projects. The selected candidate serve as the architect and technical lead for the Manufacturing Orchestration Framework (MOF) team, responsible for designing and implementing the overall middleware architecture and developing middleware integratons. The selected applicant will also support the MOF Team working on end-to-end integrations between major Enterprise software platforms including but not limited to MES, ERP, PLM, HCM and others in the 1LMX program. . They will coordinate with developers, architects, IT and Functional Product Owners, and other SMEs to deliver solutions that meet our critical deliveries.
As the Middleware Architect and Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining middleware solutions and APIs that facilitate seamless communication and integration between different systems and applications, leveraging message queues and data transformation processes. You will play a critical role in leading the design and implementation of the middleware architecture, optimizing system performance, ensuring scalability, and enhancing data flow across applications in global, classified and unclassified network environments in a timely manner. You will also develop and maintain technical roadmaps for middleware systems, including planning, execution, and delivery and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize middleware requirements.
The ideal candidate will not only possess technical expertise and development experience (typically BS degree or equivalent experience/combined education with 14 years of experience; or MS degree with 12 years), but will also have a strong understanding of operations processes and systems. To be successful in this role, you should be detail-oriented and have great communication skills and be able to collaborate cross-functionally with a variety of other disciplines. This role may have a flexible work week which includes mandatory evening, weekend, and holiday coverage. This role will also be 100% virtual (work from home).
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience/combined education; significant working experience in the following (typically 14+ years):
Experience with middleware architectural patterns and frameworks (EIP, SOA, EAI, REST, WCF, EDI, XML, Flat file, etc).
Experience modeling business logic and automating business processes using modern middleware integration platforms (e.g., Camel, eQube, TIBCO, MuleSoft)
Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices
Collaborating with project management to identify user requirements and specifications.
Demonstrated technical leadership ability, especially with a virtual team
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and deliver work against defined timelines

Desired skills
Expert Knowledge of ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) and Software Engineering concepts, and frameworks like Apache Camel, MuleSoft, or TIBCO.
Expert Experience in Java, SpringBoot, Camel, and OpenShift is highly desired.
Advanced Experience with microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration (GitLab, Helm) for scalable deployments.
Expert Experience with programming in languages like Java and DSL (XML, Java) is highly desirable.
Advanced Experience with markup technologies (XML, XPATH, XQUERY, XSLT)
Advanced Experience with API security, authentication, identity management, traffic management, analytics, and performance management and testing tools for APIs.
Experience with cloud-native deployment patterns and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with manufacturing, quality or industrial software systems
Experience with observability, high availability, disaster recovery, and operational resilience at scale
