Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior IT Hydrocarbon Value Chain Business Analyst to support the IT Enterprise Digital Solutions Manager in driving the strategic improvements within our business. The Senior IT Hydrocarbon Value Chain Business Analyst will act as the business relationship manager between the IT department and the Business Management and Process Engineering organizations.
The primary objective for the Business Analyst (BA) is to prioritize and drive continuous improvement opportunities. This includes understanding the business processes, requirements, and utilization of each IT application. The Business Analyst will assist in requirement gathering, vendor selection, and planning and execution of small projects. Additionally, this role will establish IT best practices at the site. The successful candidate must seek to understand the Refinery business, Oil and Gas practices, and feel comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Creativity and customer centric attitudes are fundamental in this role.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as the business relationship manager for the Business Management team including the commercial, supply chain, economics, scheduling, planning, and process engineering teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architect to develop strategic roadmap for business capabilities and applications.
  • Work closely with PMO (Project Management Office) and OCM (Organizational Change Management) teams to deliver key projects.
  • Actively participates in Business and IT team discussions, exchanging best practices to and from site.
  • Collaborate with the offshore Applications Support teams.
  • Work closely with the IT Technical for enforcing infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop roadmap of application and technology that enables business capabilities.
  • Maintain and support the portfolio of applications for the Business Management organization including contract and license management.
  • Lead vendor relations and management.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements for enhancements and improvements.
  • Lead application projects, deployments, upgrades and enhancements.
  • Define and deploy IT Policies and procedures for the correct use and governance of applications.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Understanding of common applications used at a refinery
  • Experience with one or multiple hydrocarbon value chain applications (preferred):
    • AVEVA PI
    • PIMS
    • Orion
    • Process Simulation
  • Strong technical abilities within application design, configuration, implementation, and support.
  • Ability to develop technology roadmaps based on both business capability enablement and technical lifecycle.
  • Experience creating an applications inventory and portfolio.
  • Proficiency in understanding complex business processes and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), among IT and business stakeholders
