Job Details

The Information Technology ADA Specialist performs the role of an auditor and advisor for ADA effort across the Enterprise. The ADA specialist is a member of a cross functional team dedicated to ensuring adherence to an ADA compliance for print, video, and digital accessibility.
Required Responsibilities
  • Must possess strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level (required)
  • Understand ADA and international accessibility laws
  • Understand and have demonstrated experience in applying accessibility and usability principles, including Universal Design, that impact users with disabilities in the discovery and design/wireframe stages
  • Tactical knowledge of W3C standards-compliant HTML and CSS
  • Experience piloting tools and suggesting techniques for improvement
  • Experience creating accessible digital solutions for individuals with disabilities
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility legislation including ADA, Section 504, and Section 508
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail
  • Help develop standards and procedures to ensure quality standards are met and maintained like accessibility and/or proper typing
Additional Required Responsibilities:
  • Managing interdisciplinary digital projects and managing expectations
  • Experience interpreting and applying user-experience and accessibility best practices Website remediation using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
  • Experience testing websites manually with various assistive technologies and with commercial web accessibility tools
  • Experience piloting tools and suggesting techniques for improvement
  • Experience creating accessible digital solutions for individuals with disabilities
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility legislation including ADA, Section 504, and Section 508
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.

  • Defines and manages both the scope & change management aspects of projects.

  • Communicates project status to project stakeholders for approval.
  • Identifies, analyzes, manages project related risks, and responds appropriately to meet requirements.
  • Initiates and disseminates timely information at the appropriate level of detail for the target audience.
  • Escalates issues and vulnerabilities to appropriate senior managers and stakeholders
