Job Title: Enterprise Project Manager
Location: Columbia, SC (On-Site)
Duration: 12 Months
Job Summary:
A large-scale public sector project is seeking an experienced Enterprise Project Manager to lead a complex initiative involving the transition from a legacy financial system to a statewide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform. This role will provide critical leadership during the project s rebaselining phase and guide the team with structured program management practices and effective stakeholder collaboration.
The Project Manager will ensure the successful delivery of project goals by providing oversight, accountability, and coordination between technical teams, business units, and external partners, including a contracted system integrator and a lead oversight agency.
Daily Responsibilities:
Rapidly assess an active, high-visibility project to identify risks, blockers, and critical success paths.
Implement disciplined program and project management practices across planning, execution, tracking, and reporting activities.
Serve as the primary point of coordination for internal technical teams, change management, and functional stakeholders.
Ensure technical and enterprise system requirements are effectively captured and executed.
Partner closely with external oversight and business agencies to align project direction and expectations.
Provide direction and oversight of the contracted system integrator and vendor deliverables.
Manage communications across various stakeholders: internal teams, vendors, ERP specialists, and executive sponsors.
Drive structured practices around risk management, issue resolution, scope control, and milestone accountability.
Required Skills (Ranked by Importance):
5+ years of experience as a Program Manager on large-scale enterprise IT implementations, ideally including ERP or cloud-based procurement systems.
Strong experience with legacy system migrations and modernization projects.
Proven knowledge and application of project and program management methodologies.
Demonstrated success in stabilizing and advancing challenged or delayed projects.
Experience managing system integrators and working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage projects in dynamic, high-stakes public sector environments.
Experience with ERP platforms such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, or similar.
Familiarity with procurement system implementations and financial systems.
Track record of cross-functional and multi-agency collaboration on technology projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience managing state government technology projects is highly desirable.
Experience working with public sector PMO teams and vendor oversight.
Education / Certifications:
PMP Certification required.
Bachelor s Degree OR 6 8 years of relevant Program Management experience required.
