Job Details

Role: OIPA Engineer

Location: (Smithfield RI, Boston MA, Westlake TX, Durham NC, Merrimack NH)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, configure, and maintain OIPA business rules, transactions, calculations, and screens based on functional requirements.
  • Participate in the design and development of new insurance products and policy administration capabilities.
  • Implement and test extensions, rules, and XML configurations within OIPA.
  • Integrate OIPA with upstream and downstream systems using web services (SOAP/REST) or middleware.
  • Support OIPA version upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
  • Conduct unit testing, assist in system integration testing, and resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and architects to ensure requirements are met with scalable, efficient OIPA solutions.
  • Document technical solutions, configurations, and deployment steps.
  • Provide ongoing production support and issue resolution for OIPA applications.



Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) configuration and development.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • OIPA rules framework (business rules, math rules, transactions).
    • JavaXML, and SQL.
    • Working with OIPA version 10.x or higher.
  • Experience in developing and consuming SOAP and RESTful web services.
  • Knowledge of insurance domain concepts (Life, Annuities, or Health insurance preferred).
  • Proficient in Oracle DatabaseWebLogic, and deployment activities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.



Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or Oracle SOA Suite.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Knowledge of policy administration modernization or migration projects.
  • Understanding of cloud-based deployment (OCI or AWS).
