Description

SAIC is currently seeking a Field Service Engineer(s) (FSE) to support the Medusa Sustainment project. The Medusa System of Systems is the U.S. Air Force's solution for defense against small unmanned aerial systems (s-UAS) utilizing a Government-owned Medusa Command and Control (Medusa C2), which allows for a plug-and-play selection of Passive and Active Sensors, Electronic and Kinetic Weapon Systems, as well as the insertion of a variety of Fusion, Association, Threat and Combat ID Algorithms. The Medusa C2 supports fixed base, portable, mounted and handheld operations. The Medusa Team supports the United States Air Force C-sUAS programs worldwide.

This role involves implementing and optimizing hardware and/or software products and multi-vendor systems at customer sites. The position includes oversight and integration support for existing systems, installation of upgrades, problem diagnosis, and resolution, as well as providing customer feedback and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • This position will provide field engineering and technical support services in support of maintaining and sustaining fielded C-sUAS systems, equipment and software at all identified locations.
  • Serve as the primary engineering representative at customer sites.
  • Implement and optimize hardware and software products and multi-vendor systems.
  • Oversee and integrate existing hardware, software, and network configurations.
  • Manage the installation process of software maintenance releases or hardware upgrades.
  • Diagnose and resolve product performance issues during installation.
  • Identify areas for product improvement and approve/implement upgrades.
  • Provide customer support and feedback on product performance problems.
  • Prepare and conduct reports and presentations related to company products and services.
  • Plan and conduct on-the-job training for field service technicians.
  • Oversee and assist lower-level service technicians.
  • Installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a program of record software application as well as integrated radios and hardware components.
  • Conduct the maximum amount of troubleshooting, fault isolation and repair to the LRU level for all fielded systems authorized at his/her level prior to making the decision to elevate to the next higher-level of maintenance.
  • Take responsibility for preparing systems for operation, system software loading, operator training, and final system operational checks.
  • Assist in coordinating the packaging and Return Material Authorization process of non-mission capable systems or equipment to the next higher-level maintenance facility (i.e., SAIC AF C-sUAS Regional Support Center (RSC) in Huntsville, Alabama).
  • Provide technical support for Airmen both on-site and telephonically.
  • Conduct training when needed.
  • Support program Help desk as required.
  • Conduct scheduled equipment inventories.

Qualifications
  • Security+ (Plus) certification.
  • Experience with tactical networks and troubleshooting.
  • In field operator training.
  • Troubleshooting of computer systems and networks.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently with short term deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel (25%).
