About the role

We are seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead programs driving client applications development, ensuring the successful launch of the Crunchyroll applications across multiple app stores. Reporting to the Program Management Organization, you will leverage your expertise in software program management and applications release management to lead the achievement of company strategic objectives.


  • Manage multiple complex technical projects concurrently, focusing on client-side application development.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Product Management, Core Engineering, Quality, Infrastructure Engineering, and Product Design by promoting and evolving processes for synchronized delivery.

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to drive team accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead the planning and execution of high-impact programs and teams, overseeing progress on release plans across multiple engineering initiatives.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate program risks, remove blockers, and seek leadership support early.

  • Collaborate with multiple teams to identify and manage dependencies early, and work with stakeholders to address them effectively.

  • Communicate program and initiative status to management effectively.


In the role of Staff Technical Program Manager, you will report to the Director of Technical Program Management.

About You

  • 12+ years of experience in technical program management, particularly in client applications or software development.

  • Demonstrated experience leading large and complex programs delivering technical solutions across multiple project teams.

  • Collaborative approach in defining short-term and long-term technical strategies.

  • Strong background in software development processes and Agile SDLC.

  • Ability to navigate contending product and technical priorities, identifying options and trade-offs.

  • Proficiency in defining outcomes, creating plans, qualifying success, mitigating risks, and communicating with multiple team members.

  • Experience in designing and implementing cross-functional process changes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences effectively.

  • Quick learner, innovative, proactive, flexible, and adaptable.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

  • Prior experience in a software development role is a plus.

  • Experience with Roku devices is a plus.

The Client Engineering teams build and maintain our Crunchyroll apps to provide the best-in-class anime experience for our global audience. Our goal is to produce robust applications that deliver content to delight and engage our audiences, partners, and team members. We embody Crunchyroll's collaborative spirit and work with multiple teams to engineer scalable solutions that can be shared across all client platforms.


The Program Management Organization is a distributed team responsible for coordinating initiatives for Crunchyroll. We work to standardize Agile methodologies for the organization, evangelize process improvements, and lead cross-team communications. With a focus on innovation and collaboration, the team works tirelessly to deliver exceptional results and maintain Crunchyroll's position as a leading provider of anime and manga content worldwide.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll's Total Rewards offerings for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, employer matched retirement savings, time-off programs, and progressive health benefits and perks.
