Reimbursement Analyst | Hybrid | Boston, MA | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking a Reimbursement Analyst based out of Boston, MA. This is a 26- week contract opportunity.

START DATE: 5/27/25
HOURS/SCHEDULE: 8-4:30pm Monday-Friday with Tuesday and Wednesday in the office 

CORE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven experience managing cash transfers, payment reconciliations, and working with billing vendors in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with TINs, NPIs, lockboxes, EFT/ERA enrollment, and payment research/remediation is essential.
  • Strong proficiency with financial data management tools (e.g., spreadsheets, billing systems, Control Board, Payspan, BPI).
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze data
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with billing vendors, payers, finance, and accounting teams.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve payment errors, maintain procedural documentation, and support enrollment and reimbursement workflows.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Responsible for the verification of banking information on all paper checks sent to the wrong addresses.
  • Manage erroneous payments received by billing vendors and assist with reallocation and moving of money/funds to the appropriate subaccount by researching and reviewing individual payments. 
  • Trend and escalate any/all payment issues to help resolve/rectify at the source. Interact directly with the various Billing Vendors, BIDCO and Payers (if needed) to resolve potential errors and technical issues that can impact Departments, Finance and Accounting. 
  •  Assist in completion of EFT and ERA payment enrollment for new or existing business as needed.
  • Organizing all manual payments, depositing to the appropriate TIN and allocated funds to the applicable department using the Transfer Spreadsheet.
  • Create, own and maintain procedural documentation for all enrollment and transfer workflows. Serves as a liaison between Billing and ROI vendors and utilizes BPI to pull billing statements/documentation for MRO in a timely fashion. 
  • Responsible for maintaining Payspan accounts for new and existing business. (essential) 8. Update and map transcode, payer and denial data elements for various DataStreams within the Control Board.
  • Manipulate and submit financial assistance and hardship spreadsheets to Billing Vendors provided by BIDMC and our affiliates. Maintain good working relationship with each Billing Vendor; develop knowledge of, and history with, their clients' accounts. 
  • Perform payment application related additional tasks as requested by Manager. Works closely with Accounting Department to resolve any discrepancies in the daily cash. Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned by the management team
  • This job requires constant sitting, Keyboard use.
