In late January, we announced that Bridgefield Capital signed an agreement to acquire Philips' Emergency Care business which includes leading brands and products like HeartStart AEDs, Intrepid and DFM100 monitor defibrillators, Tempus monitor and Tempus ALS systems, and Corsium and ECI informatics solutions. We expect the transaction to close at the end of 2025.

With Bridgefield's support and building on our 40+ year legacy of growth and innovation in emergency medical technology, the Emergency Care business will continue passionately pursuing our mission of saving lives, lowering the cost of healthcare, and advancing the science of resuscitation while serving the public access AED, EMS, military, and hospital market segments.

In this role and as part of an agile company that has the dedicated resources needed to achieve its strategic goals, you'll have every opportunity to become a part of the "NewCo" we are forming and grow both personally and professionally and potentially make an even bigger impact on the acute care space - as well as on the consumers, patients and healthcare workers who depend on these innovative life-saving solutions.

As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring reliability of Philips Emergency care products by troubleshooting product failures to the component level, contributing to root causes analysis and driving continuous improvement.

Your role:

  • Operate test and characterization equipment such as oscilloscopes, microscopes, analyzers, digital multi-meters, and environmental chambers as necessary.
  • Perform precision rework, including soldering and de-soldering of surface-mount components to validate failure modes and corrective actions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of investigative steps, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by fostering knowledge sharing and best practices to improve workflow efficiency and product reliability.

You're the right fit if:
  • You have 3+ years of experience in electronics troubleshooting Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) failure analysis, rework or repair. Experience in medical devices within a regulated industry is a plus.
  • You possess strong knowledge of analog and digital circuits and are proficient in using test equipment to troubleshoot electronic circuits. Knowledge or experience with test fixture development is a plus.
  • You have strong written communication skills to clearly document investigation findings, can thrive in a collaborative environment, and can prioritize tasks in a dynamic work setting.
  • You have a Bachelor's or Associate degree in electronics, electrical or a relevant engineering discipline or have equivalent work experience.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Production/Assembler position.
