Assisting them with a seamless and rapid transition to leverage Snowflake's superior capabilities is central to the company's strategy, which includes developing tools and features to facilitate this process.
The Manager of the Snowflake Migrations team leads a group of talented Software Application Engineers dedicated to building the future of data by enabling seamless transitions to the Snowflake platform. This role involves overseeing the innovation and development of cutting-edge migration tools and applications, like SnowConvert or SMA, that accelerate the conversion of legacy platforms.
A key responsibility is to ensure the team builds highly secure and reliable software that accelerates customer workload migration, while also meeting operational excellence goals for reliability, availability, and performance. The manager fosters a culture of technical excellence, guides the team in establishing development processes and best practices for quality and velocity, and ensures collaborative delivery of cross-functional initiatives with product managers, solutions architects, and designers. Beyond technical oversight, this manager is responsible for team leadership, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and developing individual engineers, fostering a high-performance culture, and aligning team goals with broader organizational objectives.

AS A SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER - MIGRATIONS, YOU WILL:
- Lead and drive projects from idea formulation to design, implementation, and productionization.
- Drive a great partnership with the product management team.
- Set team strategy and be accountable for team plans and deliverables.
- Grow and build a strong, healthy, and diverse team through hiring, mentoring, and coaching.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams and cross functional teams.
- Provide strong technical leadership to the team and partner teams.
- Enable the data science organization, business groups, and engineering teams to build comprehensive analytics quickly and effectively.
- Identify the gaps in our data infrastructure and design and build the solutions.
- 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and supporting software solutions
- 3+ years of experience leading and scaling software engineering teams.
- Strong track record of growing and managing engineering teams.
- Strong fundamental computer science skills.
- Deep understanding of modern data engineering solutions, good API design patterns, database fundamentals, performance and scale.
- Deep multi-faceted appreciation in building end-to-end customer facing products.
- Experience in driving company initiatives towards customer satisfaction.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent experience.
