MS&B Chief Structures Engineer - Level 6 (Chief)

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Chief Structures Engineer (Level 6) to join the MS&B Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
This position will support the Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft Programs (VC-25, E-4B, C-32/C-40, International Head of State Programs, P-8, KC-46, E-3 & E-7) and Bombers Programs (B-1, B-52 & B-2) This position requires extensive knowledge in Static, Fatigue/Durability, Damage Tolerance analysis and experience with Military Airworthiness & FAA Certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical decision making and structures execution oversight across MS&B. The individual will directly interface with executive leadership team including program, functional LT and customers. In addition, this candidate will serve in an integration role and will be responsible for guiding the MS&B structures methods, tools and talent development strategy.
Position Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be required to work 100% onsite in Oklahoma City.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Position Responsibilities:
- Plans and organizes structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements
- Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design.
- Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
- Serves as a consultant to top management in long-range company planning for new or projected areas of technological research and advancement.
- Recognized as an expert in the industry.
- Mentors, trains, and teaches younger analysts on stress methodologies
- Is considered a subject matter expert, and has deep comprehension of industry methods in structural analysts
- Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment, characteristics, and performance of the product
- Develops and uses Finite Element Models (FEM)
- Understands proper application of loads in FEMs
- Understands industry best practices in airframe primary structure and load paths
- Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance of the product.
- Works with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met
- Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the analysis and repair efforts
- Ensures compliance with methodology and processes for stress analysis, DaDT analysis, and finite element modelling in the accomplishment of work
- Reviews and approves certification results.
- Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Defines and organizes test programs to substantiate structural integrity and compliance for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
- Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
- Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements.
- Works under consultative direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Experience with loadpaths and freebody analysis representation of loading
- Experience presenting technical topics to leadership or a customer
- 20 or more years of experience in structural analysis
- 10 or more years of experience as Lead Engineer
- 5 or more years of experience as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- 5 or more years of experience in Static, Durability and Damage Tolerance analysis
- 5 or more years developing or working with Finite Element & Loads Models
- 5 or more years of experience in Military Certification and FAA Certification
- Able to independently construct, execute, review, and manage structural finite element models
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance
- Experience with Hypermesh, Patran, FEMAP, Abaqus CAE, and/or Nastran
- Experience with non-linear behavior of materials such as plasticity, damage progression, and crack growth
- Experience validating, calibrating, or correlating finite element model results with test
- Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
- Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
- Experience with DOD aircraft structures
- Experience in metallic and composite structures
- Experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives - Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)
