The Database Administrator, Senior shall be responsible for monitoring database performance, ensuring data security, and managing data backups and recovery procedures. The Database Administrator, Senior is also responsible for applying updates and patches to keep database systems running smoothly and securely.

Responsibilities
  • Establish a framework that defines goals, objectives, and outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and needs.
  • Determining an appropriate organizational maturity model and establishing status.
  • Developing action plans to achieve improved organizational maturity.
  • Identifying and evaluating needs related to new policy or requirements and assessing if this constitutes a new project/process or a redesign of an existing project/process.
  • Review, assess, and document the current state of the organization to identify areas or conditions that may impact (positively or negatively) design or implementation.
  • Developing problem statements, goals, objectives, and/or logic models for the new/revised project/process.
  • Along with implementation planning, development of performance management plans and tools to monitor and evaluate during and post-implementation.
  • Integration with existing internal controls processes and tools.
  • Facilitate the development of recommendations for internal administrative procedures, systems, and practices that improve the ability of WASO Divisions to align staffing, resources, and capacity to provide system-wide planning guidance and oversight of special studies and park, transportation, and facility investment planning.
  • Provide data analysis and visualization of transportation and non-transportation asset portfolio.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics and analytics to monitor effectiveness, efficiency, and impacts.
  • Leverage modern technologies to streamline processes, enhance delivery, and support data-driven decision-making
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years of relational database management experience required in performance tuning, operational configurations, resource optimization, etc.
  • Background check

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to design a database to the third norm.
  • Ability to write disaster recovery plans.
  • Ability to develop project management documentation.
  • Ability to work without guidance.
  • Ability to manage and initiate projects.
  • Works on Servers as an SME for database projects.
