Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for an IT Specialist to provide support at Rock Island, IL.

Responsibilities

Provide systems analysis, software and hardware, and teleprocessing advice to both functional and Automated Data Processing (ADP) personnel.

Assist in interpreting new or revised command policies and objectives to determine their impact on current systems and plans.

Advise on and assists customers in their automation requirements.

Ensure customers' system configurations and automation plans are fully compatible with overall communications and networking initiatives within the supported activities.

Discuss pertinent issues with functional and technical specialists and initiates necessary changes.

Assist users in resolving system/application issues and interaction with Army Enterprise Service Desk (AESD).

Conduct analysis of application data, developing desk procedures and methodology for systems operation, maintaining content on the Government designated website. Maintain content and design of the Government designated SharePoint page and assist in managing user access requests for the Government designated SharePoint sites.

Qualifications

B achelors with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience)

Clearance Required: Secret

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of five years of experience in applying a wide variety of applications, operating systems, and equipment used in customer support sufficient to receive, respond to, and ensure complete resolution of any call, document actions taken, and give needed guidance or training to customers to prevent recurrences.
  • Knowledge of Dept. of Defense (DOD), Dept. of the Army (DA), AMC and ADP standards, policies, and security requirements and authorized system design approaches to include both limitations and sources of technical data necessary.
  • Knowledge of the subject matter work procedures and operations in the pertinent functional areas and skill in applications systems design and programming techniques in order to advise management on the merits of proposed projects before the decision to automate.
  • Skill in developing the plans or specifications necessary for carrying out the recommendations for automation, e.g., specifications which set forth inputs, outputs, basic decision rules, and program interrelationships, skill in troubleshooting problems from system design through system implementation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of current system software and equipment technology to recognize developments potentially applicable to the proposed application. Knowledge of and skill in advising and assisting customers with a wide range and variety of complex IT issues, including performing customer requirements analysis; answering customer questions; identifying and providing ongoing customer support.
  • Knowledge of Army systems, data mining, data analysis and common system languages, such as Oracle SQL, Microsoft Access SQL, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP).

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
