Title: DevOps Engineer 12 Months Contract

Location: Fremont, CA

Description:

  • We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with experience in developing and managing CI/CD processes, aligning security with deployment processes, understanding network requirements, and ensuring software development process reliability and performance.
  • This critical role involves delivering consultation to optimize software development processes for key functions at Lam Research.
  • The goal is to create a robust, secure code pipeline that ensures smooth and controlled software delivery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure DevOps tasks. Experience with tools like Chef, Puppet, GitHub, and Ansible is beneficial. Design, deploy, and configure network/security to ensure enterprise compliance.
  • Design and set up CI/CD pipelines following industry best practices.
  • Integrate security solutions into the CI/CD pipeline. Experience with tools like Jenkins is helpful.
  • This role is pivotal in ensuring the security, efficiency, and reliability of our software development processes.

  • Optimize the existing CI/CD structure used by the enterprise software team.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and build issues within the CI/CD pipeline. Design encrypted and key management processes to be integrated into CI/CD workflows.
  • Build and optimize Windows/Linux servers to enhance the CI/CD tool fabric.
  • Document the entire CI/CD DevOps workflow, including security gating controls.
  • Experience with industrial software development pipelines (e.g., involving Smalltalk) is advantageous.
  • Experience working on DevOps programs for globally distributed developer teams is beneficial.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of DevOps experience with proven end-to-end CI/CD and SDLC project delivery.
  • Strong hands-on DevOps knowledge with deep experience in one framework such as Docker or GitLab.
  • Knowledge of programming frameworks (e.g., Java, .NET, Python) and automation skills, including Puppet, GitHub, and Ansible. Expertise in designing and building complete CI/CD stacks (e.g., with Jenkins).
  • Knowledge of network/security implementation and technicalities.
  • Familiarity with server technology and OS builds (Windows, Linux, etc.).
  • Understanding of secret and key management requirements and best practices. Knowledge of security technology stacks, including network and application security, infrastructure hardening, and security baselines.
  • Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security procedures.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux patch management and information security functions (authentication, encryption, iptables, SSL, ciphers, etc.).
  • Intermediate Python programming experience to decode existing rulesets and test Python controls integration with tools. Experience in the development, deployment, and automation of security solutions in an enterprise ICS environment.
  • Experience working with APIs and plugins to integrate security tools with CI/CD pipelines.
