Job Title: Lead Quality Engineer (QE) with UI and API Automation

Location: Coppell, TX or Fort Washington, PA (Onsite)

Duration: 12+ months

Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Quality Engineer (QE) with expertise in UI and API Automation to drive and enhance our testing processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automation frameworks while ensuring high-quality deliverables. The QE Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage automation repositories, and support continuous integration (CI) environments to streamline testing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Test Execution:

  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks for API and UI testing.
  • Convert requirements, user stories, and manual test cases into automated scripts.
  • Ensure test scripts run seamlessly in target environments, collaborating with QA Management.
  • Participate in Sprint automation, identifying test cases for automation in each release.
  • Develop and maintain Sanity, Smoke, System, End-to-End (E2E), and Regression test suites.
  • Perform routine maintenance of test scripts, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Test Strategy & Planning:

  • Define and implement test strategies for both manual and automated testing.
  • Identify automation candidates for each release based on established selection criteria.
  • Collaborate with development and business teams to understand application workflows.
  • Analyze complex applications, map requirements to test cases, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Reporting & Process Improvement:

  • Provide daily progress reports and escalate any testing or automation issues.
  • Track key metrics to measure time and cost savings from automation efforts.
  • Write detailed defect reports, ensuring clear communication across teams.
  • Stay updated with best practices in test automation and recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in leading manual and automation testing for enterprise applications.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts.
  • Strong expertise in Automation Frameworks, API Automation, UI Automation, and Selenium WebDriver.
  • Proficiency in REST Assured for API testing.
  • Strong understanding of GUI Testing, Web Application Testing, and Test Planning.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases with the ability to write and execute SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and API-driven applications.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on both technical and business levels.
  • Experience in writing test strategies and planning automation roadmaps.
  • Ability to work in Agile environments, collaborating with developers, product owners, and business analysts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.

Preferred Experience & Capabilities

  • Prior experience in Mortgage Servicing or Banking is a plus.
  • Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Knowledge of project management tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Understanding of test metrics and reporting to improve automation effectiveness.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
