Job Overview:
We are seeking an SOC Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong willingness to learn, technical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with others. Certifications such as Security+ or those from the SANS Institute are highly desirable. We are looking for individuals who actively follow cybersecurity news, participate in activities like Hack the Box, and demonstrate a genuine interest in advancing their knowledge in the field of cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm).
• Triage alerts and escalate potential incidents to senior analysts as needed.
• Perform initial investigation and documentation of security events.
• Assist with threat intelligence research and correlation of data.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents and investigations.
• Support the team in creating and updating runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Help manage endpoint protection systems and other security tools.
• Stay current on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Internship or hands-on experience with a SIEM tool.
• Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or Cisco CyberOps are a plus.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework, threat hunting, or malware analysis is a bonus.

Pay Range: $50 - $55

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
