Job Title: Data Center Facility Manager
Location: Longueuil, QC (Onsite)
Duration/Term: Long-Term Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Data Center Facility Manager to lead the design, build, and operational oversight of large-scale enterprise data centers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing structured cabling, physical infrastructure, power and cooling, and vendor coordination to ensure consistent uptime and facility resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full data center implementation lifecycle including floor planning, rack elevation, overhead infrastructure layout, and critical systems.
- Develop and execute High-Level and Low-Level Designs for DC colo, including floor diagrams and rack layouts.
- Supervise structured cabling, fiber optics, and power cabling with strict adherence to industry standards and project designs.
- Ensure continuous support of data center facilities including space, power, and cooling infrastructure.
- Manage and direct the "hands and feet" teams, including skilled resources involved in DC infrastructure delivery.
- Own and drive vendor relationships, SLA compliance, procurement coordination, and equipment verification.
- Collaborate with project managers and infrastructure architects to ensure project goals are met on time.
- Perform root cause analysis of failures and drive corrective measures.
- Oversee risk mitigation, physical security controls, and asset inventory during and after deployment.
- Support during crises to assist team members, customers, and leadership as needed.
Main Technical Areas:
- Telecom: MPOE, MMR, MDFs, Cross Connects, Risers, Conduits, 2N/N+1 redundancy
- Electrical: Power feeds, UPS, generators, transformers, battery banks, PPMs
- Mechanical: Chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, leak/fire protection, grounding systems
- Security: Access controls, surveillance systems, physical perimeter protections
- DC Colo Infrastructure: Rack stacking, labeling, cable management, decommissioning
- Equipment Handling: Unpacking, inspection, issue resolution for damaged equipment
- Troubleshooting: Hardware installation, diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in data center colocation builds and IT infrastructure projects
- Expertise in structured cabling, fiber and power layout, rack architecture, and system provisioning
- Hands-on with data center operations involving Windows/Linux systems, LAN/WAN networks, and disaster recovery practices
- Strong communication and team leadership abilities
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent from a recognized university
Certifications (Preferred):
- ITIL v3 Certification
- IDCA DCES / DCIE, Cisco CCDP
