Our enterprise client has an immediate opening for an experienced Network Engineer to support locations all across the country. The network team works closely with the IT organization to monitor, manage, administrator, and provides operational support for the company networks.
Part of a team working in a hybrid work environment with paid holidays and vacation and sick time.

responsibilities:
Job Duties
- Configure, patch, support network devices
- Create and maintain network support documentation
- Updating and/or creating new firewall policies, DNS records and Access Control Lists
- Keeping network monitoring tools up to date with new and existing devices
- Following the change control process when making any changes on network devices
After-Hours Support and Network Reliability
- Provide weekly after-hours on-call support for the Network Team to ensure high availability, leveraging tools such as:
- LiveNX, Cisco Prime, Netprofiler (Riverbed), SolarWinds, and Extrahop
- Use ServiceNow to capture incident logs and track event resolution
- Rapidly diagnose and remediate issues using platforms including:
- Forescout Console, Extrahop, SecureCRT, and Citrix Secureportal
Firewall and Security Management
- Implement and validate after-hours firewall rule and policy changes via:
- Panorama (Palo Alto), Cisco CDO, Cisco ASA, Cisco SD-WAN vManage, and F5 Silverline Defense
- Ensure external threat mitigation with services like:
- cloudflare, EDL, Ultra DNS, and AVI
- Apply CIS Benchmarks to validate hardening standards
Identity, Access, and Compliance
- Manage access provisioning and deprovisioning using:
- AAMPS, STEP, and ISE (Cisco Identity Services Engine)
- Perform access reviews on key operational portals:
- Arista Customer Portal, Citrix Support Contact, Cisco Support (cloudsso), Forescout Support, SolarWinds Customer Portal, Palo Alto Support, Extrahop Customer Portal
DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) Services
- Apply configuration changes and updates to:
- Infoblox, Ultra DNS/External DNS, and Windows DNS/DHCP
- Maintain accurate name resolution, failover policies, and IPAM hygiene
Network Management Platforms
- Administer and maintain advanced management solutions including:
- Arista CVP (CloudVision Portal), BigSwitch, Meraki Dashboard, and Cradlepoint NetCloud
- Use Televault and D3V-TDS where applicable for data and configuration storage or recovery tasks
Network Behavior and Performance Analysis
- Update and maintain documentation for NBA tools such as:
- Extrahop, Netprofiler (Riverbed), Darktrace (if used)
- Monitor and tune traffic flows for anomalies and threat signatures
Incident and Change Management
- Document and manage all changes, incidents, and maintenance activities through:
- ServiceNow (Change, Incident, CMDB, Knowledge modules)
- Ensure all work is logged per ITIL-aligned change processes and documented for audit purposes
Collaboration and Governance
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders using platforms like:
- Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Confluence
- Ensure network changes meet business objectives, align with security compliance, and follow documentation standards
qualifications:
Job Requirements -- Associate's or Bachelor's degree or relevant hands on experience.
- Hybrid schedule 60/40: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
- Ability to collaborate with resources across multiple disciplines.
Minimum of 7 years of experience engineering and supporting technologies from the following list:
Arista/Cisco Switching and Routing
Viptela SD-WAN Routing
Cisco and Palo Alto Firewalls
Infoblox DDI
Cisco ISE Identity Management
Load Balancing
Riverbed Steelcentral, Appresponse and NetProfiler
Solarwinds Orion

Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Must be able to author work instructions, best practice documents and procedures which can be followed by others.
- Demonstrate the ability to master new and diverse technologies.
- Proven ability to work well in and contribute to a team environment.
