Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to oversee the deployment of technology infrastructure as part of the construction of a new campus. This role requires a hands-on professional with a background in managing end-to-end technology infrastructure projects, specifically focusing on routers, end user computing, wireless, and server installations. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background rather than specialized technical experience and will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the planning, installation, and roll-out of technology infrastructure in new campus buildings.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining project scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timelines.
- Monitor the progress of technology infrastructure deployments and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure all installations and configurations are executed correctly.
- Provide hands-on support with equipment installations and setup, ensuring high-quality delivery of infrastructure components.
- Regularly communicate project status, risks, and issue resolutions to stakeholders.
- Address project challenges proactively, developing and implementing solutions to ensure project objectives are met.
- Manage any changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on technology infrastructure deployments.
- Proven track record of managing end-to-end projects, from initiation through to execution and close-out.
- Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of managing diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with hardware installations and configuration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
