Role / Title: Sr. Cable Technician /Data Center Technician

Agreed Pay Rate: $35-40

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA

Start Date: 2 weeks after offer and acceptance

Duration: 12 Months

  • Implement and maintain critical supported technologies such as 800Mhz Radio and DAS systems.
  • Maintain and service for Overhead Paging (OHP) throughout UCDH clinical spaces.
  • Support all aspects of data centers and IT closets, overseeing and implementing infrastructure physical layer designs and installations, also conducting maintenance and environmental monitoring across the Sacramento region.
  • Ensure timely response to all tickets related to incident problems and changes within departmental service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Meet SLAs with internal UCDH customers, addressing incidents, problems, and changes for clinical staff technologies, network, AV, cabling, and AUX support systems.
  • Configure and maintain Power Distribution Units (PDUs) to ensure reliable power distribution throughout the cable plant infrastructure.
  • Monitor PDU performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Develop and submit Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) permits in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to ongoing operations.
  • Ensure that ICRA permits are updated and maintained throughout the duration of each project.
  • Complete all tasks associated with assigned shift checklist or daily turnover, escalate system downtimes and outages, and monitor data center and telecommunications closets environmental and delivery infrastructure projects throughout the shift.
  • Design and Engineer IT Closets and communication physical space, document and support designs, including wire diagrams, power calculations, power distribution capability, rack placement, and other relevant communications elements.
  • Monitor and enforce the physical security of the three data centers and 280+ TR's 24/7.
  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities for system failures, environmental alerts, and provide 24/7 data center services support.
