The Public Cloud Application Portfolio Optimization Lead - SVP is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project. You will be part of a team that continues to deliver big! From building a cloud-based High-Performance Compute (HPC) platform to run huge risk calculations, enabling Citi to leverage GenAI at scale, all the way to enabling payments solutions, this team is at the forefront of innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Charge: Own the public cloud application portfolio assessment strategy and its execution, enabling Citi's secure and enterprise-scale adoption of public cloud.
  • Application Assessment: Design, develop, and maintain tools and dashboards to automate the identification and assessment of applications suitable for public cloud migration and containerisation.
  • Data Integration & Management: Connect and integrate various data sources, including application inventory systems, infrastructure logs, performance metrics, cost data, and source code repositories, to create a unified data platform for assessment.
  • Data-Driven Use Cases: Develop and articulate data-driven use cases and scenarios to demonstrate the business value and technical feasibility of migrating specific applications to the public cloud.
  • Experimentation: Designing and analysing experiments to test hypotheses and optimize strategies for public cloud adoption.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with teams across Citi's technology landscape to ensure alignment between public cloud initiatives and broader business goals.
  • Engineering Excellence: Contribute to defining and measuring success criteria for service availability and reliability within the specific product domain.

Qualifications:
  • 10 plus years of development experience: Experienced in software development with a focus on Data analysis. Key areas of proficiency include:
  • Predictive Modelling Experience: Developing models to forecast future trends, behaviours, or outcomes.
    • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
    • Strong proficiency in data querying languages (SQL, KQL, etc.) and experience with large datasets.
    • Experience with application portfolio management (APM) tools (CAST Highlight, AWS Migration Service, IBM Turbonomic, etc) and methodologies is desirable.
    • Experience with Git and collaborative code development practices.
  • Adaptability: A demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Strategic Thinking: Experience evaluating complex requirements and rationalizing them into a consistent service offering.
  • Excellent Communication: The ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional Teamwork and Collaboration: A proven ability to contribute effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Leadership Experience: a proven track record of leading a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing Engineering team.

Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent work experience
