Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $124,900 - $259,500/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.

As a Senior Manager Network Engineering, you will be responsible for:

- Leading and developing a team of engineers who build and maintain Akamai's global backbone, ensuring adherence to best practices \n
- Working with vendors and internal organizations to build out large points of presence across the globe; installing, configuring, and maintaining Juniper and Cisco devices \n
- Configuring and debugging complex metro topologies and high-capacity circuits \n
- Being involved with deep protocol level debugging with our hardware vendors \n
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams on standards, deployment processes, and technology rollouts delivering high reliability \n
- Providing 2nd level escalation support to operations teams \n

To be successful in this role you will:
\n
- \n
- Have 10 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent \n
- Demonstrate experience managing one or more network engineering teams, including performance management, career coaching, and mentoring \n
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with BGP, ISIS, and MPLS with RSVP-TE in a large service provider organization \n
- Display solid experience in IP network design and routing architecture \n
- Have working knowledge of virtualization, Linux/Unix systems and Python, SQL, or other scripting languages \n
- Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills and ability to build trusting relationships \n
