Role Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engineer - Marketo
Location: Washington, DC
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage end-to-end implementation of Salesforce Marketing Cloud - Marketo
Design and set up Data Extensions, Subscribers, and manage audience segmentation strategies..
Develop and implement complex Email Studio, Mobile Studio, and Journey Builder campaigns.
Configure and maintain Transactional Journeys, Triggered Sends, and Real-Time Notifications.
Build and manage Dynamic Sender Profiles, AMP script, and dynamic content blocks.
Integrate SFMC with external platforms via REST/SOAP APIs, SSJS, and automation tools.
Own and execute IP Warming, Domain Authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and Sender Reputation Management.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams for custom integrations, data flows, and CRM sync.
Ensure email deliverability best practices and compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).
Optimize campaign performance through testing (A/B, multivariate), analytics, and reporting.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior marketing cloud professionals.
Required Skills and Experience:
9+ years of overall experience in digital marketing / CRM platforms
5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Mobile Studio)
Strong understanding of marketing automation, customer journeys, and personalization tactics
In-depth experience with APIs (REST & SOAP), SSJS, AMPscript, and SQL for SFMC
Experience in Push Notification setup, Transactional Email setup, and Triggered Campaigns
Proven experience in IP warming strategy and domain setup for SFMC deliverability
Expertise in data integration, data modeling, and subscriber data architecture
Familiarity with Marketing Cloud Connect and CRM (Salesforce Sales/Service Cloud) integrations
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills
Certifications (Required/Preferred):
Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist (Required)
Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant (Preferred)
Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer (Preferred)
Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator (Preferred)
Additional Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder) are a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Marketing Automation Architect or Lead Consultant
Background in B2C and B2B customer engagement strategies
Experience working in Agile teams, using tools like Jira, Confluence, etc.
Knowledge of additional marketing technologies (e.g., Pardot, Adobe Campaign, HubSpot) is a bonus"
