Cloud Engineer/ Cloud Devops Engineer 100% Remote

  • Feature Delivery: The requirement to deliver "complex features through thin-slice implementations" means you are building the UI and the Business Logic, not just the environment.
  • Frontend Requirements: A pure Cloud Engineer is rarely asked to be proficient in Angular or React.
  • Product Connection: The description emphasizes "connection to user needs," which is a hallmark of a Product/Software Engineer.
Why it's more than a "Standard Developer"

It leans very heavily into "DevOps Culture." In many companies, a developer writes code and throws it over the wall to a Cloud Engineer. Here, the "wall" doesn't exist. You are expected to:

  • Manage IAM policies (Security).
  • Provision your own databases (RDS, Aurora, Redshift).
  • Architect the CI/CD and Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Optimize AWS costs and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex features aligned with team OKRs through thin-slice implementations.
  • Improve operational efficiency by optimizing performance, scalability, and cost while addressing technical debt and security vulnerabilities.
  • Lead technical discussions, provide code review feedback, and foster team collaboration.
  • Create automation to reduce maintenance costs and maintain engineering best practices.
  • Share knowledge through documentation and cross-team engagement.
  • Hold team accountable to norms and communicate openly with constructive feedback.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • TypeScript, Python, Node, Angular, React, Git. AWS infrastructure (CloudFormation, Lambda, SQS, ECS, ECR, EventBridge, IAM, S3).
  • Docker and Kubernetes containerization.
  • Database management with PostgreSQL, Redshift, RDS, AuroraDB.
  • Vanguard cloud platforms, GitHub, FaaS, DBaaS.

Management Skills:

  • Product understanding with connection to user needs.
  • Agile/Scrum/Kanban expertise.
  • Task prioritization and commitment delivery.
  • Mentorship capabilities.
  • Technical decision-making confidence.
  • Continuous learning mindset and adaptability to changing requirements.

Executive Skills:

  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting.
  • Creative problem-solving and innovative solutions.
  • Clear communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Constructive feedback skills.
