Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst II to join a team focused on converting existing reports to new platforms and creating blueprints for future reporting needs. This position will play a critical role in streamlining reporting processes, improving data accessibility, and supporting data-driven decision-making across various departments. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reports are migrated efficiently and new reporting solutions are designed to meet the evolving needs of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report Conversion:
    • Convert existing reports from legacy platforms to new reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and data integrity throughout the process.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand current reporting processes and identify potential improvements during the conversion.
    • Ensure the timely and efficient migration of reports with minimal disruption to the institution s operations.
  • Blueprint Creation for Future Reports:
    • Develop and document clear, detailed blueprints for creating future reports, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and departmental needs.
    • Collaborate with department heads and other stakeholders to understand specific reporting requirements and create solutions tailored to those needs.
    • Create standardized templates and frameworks to guide the development of future reports, promoting consistency and best practices across the institution.
  • Data Management & Reporting:
    • Extract, clean, and validate data from various internal systems to support reporting and analysis.
    • Develop, design, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using reporting tools such as Sigma, Power BI, and Tableau.
    • Identify trends, issues, and opportunities in the data to help improve processes and decision-making within the institution.
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Work closely with departments (e.g., Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Academic Affairs) to gather feedback and ensure reports meet their data needs.
    • Provide technical support and training to users on how to access and use reports effectively.
    • Serve as a liaison between IT and various departments, ensuring clear communication regarding data reporting requirements and project timelines.
  • System Maintenance & Optimization:
    • Monitor and maintain the performance of reports, dashboards, and reporting systems.
    • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements, automation, and optimization of reporting workflows.
  • Data Governance & Compliance:
    • Ensure all reports and data practices comply with institutional policies and relevant regulations, including FERPA.
    • Safeguard the security and privacy of sensitive data, adhering to best practices in data governance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an IT Data Analyst, with a focus on report conversion and data management.
    • Strong proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
    • Experience in creating and managing data reports, dashboards, and analytics.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL and data extraction techniques.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Previous experience working in Higher Education environments is preferred.
    • Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, or similar).
    • Experience in developing blueprints for reporting and building custom reporting solutions.
    • Knowledge of data integration and automation tools.
