Luna Data Solutions has an immediate contract position opening (contract term 12 months+) for a Technical Project Manage resource with our public sector industry client located in Austin, TX. *This resource will work 4 to 5 days/week onsite.

*NOTE: All candidates must be able to work on a W2 basis; no C2C is allowed.

Role: Technical Project Manager

Role Description:

The Project Manager II is an Information Technology (IT) position that will manage components of highly complex and visible projects and/or program initiatives. This role will follow project management methodologies and governance processes to deliver work products on time and within a set budget. The role will also collaborate with the end-user and key stakeholders to provide status updates and gather requirements, with the vendor on their implementation and delivery of contract deliverables, and with the internal IT Team. The Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining and managing the timeline for multiple projects. Further, this individual will work to identify project risks and issues and proactively manage a plan to mitigate the risks and resolve the issues.
Key Activities/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate experience with general IT SDLC processes.
  • Demonstrate experience with implementing Enterprise Systems Integration projects.
  • Demonstrate experience with SAP.
  • Mediate business units that may have conflicting requirements.
  • Drive systems integration delivery projects from 3rd party vendors to delivery acceptance and project closure.
  • Prepare/present Executive level project communications, project tracking and stakeholder management.
  • Create/maintain various project artifacts including Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register, etc.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Responsible for project scope delivery adhering to and optimizing schedule, costs, and resources. Projects include client, partners, and third-party deliverables.
  • Acts as the counterpart for vendors program leader to ensure customer satisfaction and be the escalation point for service delivery activities.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking to solve issues.
  • Hands-on-project manager for multiple projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing all phases of large and complex technical projects.
  • The client is specifically seeking candidates with deep knowledge and hands-on experience in cloud-based projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading initiatives involving cloud infrastructure, migrations, or SaaS implementations, and be comfortable navigating the complexities of cloud architecture, security, and vendor coordination.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in creating and maintaining various project artifacts including Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register, etc.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with general IT SDLC processes.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in identifying and managing project risks and issues.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in creating and presenting executive level project communications.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in gathering requirements from business divisions.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with educating business unit staff on standardized processes.
  • Minimum of 7 ears of experience with strong verbal and written skills in communicating with peers and different levels of users including executive staff.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in facilitating large group meetings with internal and external resources.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in collaborating with the technical and functional teams to develop the Technical Specification and other documents need in support of the solution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with implementing Enterprise Systems Integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with one or more of the state of Texas government agencies.
  • CBAP and/or PMP certification is a plus
