Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Dynatrace Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale observability and application performance monitoring (APM) solutions.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with the Dynatrace platform, a deep understanding of infrastructure and application monitoring, and the ability to integrate Dynatrace into complex hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
This role will ensure end-to-end visibility, proactive performance management, and alignment with SLO- driven outcomes across business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation & Configuration
Deploy and configure Dynatrace agents across servers, applications, containers, and cloud workloads.
Enable and fine-tune Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Real User Monitoring (RUM),
Synthetic Monitoring, and Log Monitoring.
Design custom dashboards, alerts, and visualization layers tailored to application and business needs.
Configure Davis AI and Smartscape topology to ensure accurate dependency mapping and root cause detection.
Integration & Automation
Integrate Dynatrace with CI/CD pipelines, ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira), and collaboration tools.
Automate deployment and configuration using scripts, APIs, or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Ansible or Terraform.
Work closely with DevOps and SRE teams to embed observability practices into build, release, and operations workflows.
Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting
Proactively monitor application and infrastructure performance, identifying bottlenecks and anomalies.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide recommendations to improve system reliability and performance.
Partner with development, database, and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents and improve service uptime.
Observability Governance & Best Practices
Define and enforce observability standards, dashboards, and KPIs across the enterprise.
Support SLO/SLA tracking and reporting to align monitoring with business objectives.
Contribute to documentation, playbooks, and runbooks to standardize observability practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in APM, observability, or infrastructure monitoring.
Strong hands-on experience with Dynatrace OneAgent, Dynatrace Managed/SaaS, and observability modules (APM, RUM, Synthetic, Log Monitoring).
Experience integrating Dynatrace with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira).
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell) and API-based automation.
Strong understanding of application architectures (microservices, containers, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Knowledge of infrastructure components (Windows/Linux servers, network, storage, databases).
Familiarity with observability ecosystem tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) is a plus.
Ability to work with globally distributed teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred:
Certification in Dynatrace Associate/Professional or equivalent.
Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud monitoring strategies.
Exposure to AIOps concepts and automation workflows.
Exposure to Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and modern observability stacks.
Familiarity with Dynatrace Grail/DQL and AI-based anomaly detection.
Knowledge of cost optimization and FinOps practices in observability platforms.
Industry certifications in observability, SRE, ITIL, or cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, public sector).
