Job Title: Junior Business/Data Analyst

Location: Linthicum Heights, MD

Job Type: Long-Term Contract / Full Time

EXPERIENCE:
4+ years of relevant experience within the data science or computer science industry. This experience includes data management, data cleaning, statistical analysis, data visualization, and report writing. A master's (preferred) or bachelor's degree in a field like mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or computer science within the last three years, is preferred. Data Analysis Certifications in programming languages or other areas related to data analytics would be considered as work experience, if available. The number of years in graduate education can be counted towards valid work experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Work with executives and other business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
Create reports for internal teams and/or external clients.
Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data.
Use graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize data.
Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions.
Structure large data sets to find usable information.
Work with a team of analysts and other associates to process information.
Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced speaking and report-writing skills for effective communication.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Experience designing methods and strategies to capture, store, and manage data.
A good working of SAS, STATA, RStudio, Python, Java, C, C++, and Jupyter software (or a combination of these programs); see more below.
Experience with computing cluster environments.
Solid working knowledge of office processes and related computer software (such as Microsoft Office and web-based applications) and electronic communications tools.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to set and meet deadlines.
Ability to work in high-pressure situations.
Strong judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information.
